Honor the best teachers of Council Bluffs Community School District and the Lewis Central School District for the influence they have on the development of their students and the part they play to help maintain Council Bluffs’ longstanding reputation for educational excellence. The Nelson Family Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes those individuals who go above and beyond to demonstrate leadership and vision in our schools.
Nominations
Making a nomination is a fantastic way to give a teacher the recognition he/she deserves. To nominate someone for this award, visit www.thenelsonfoundation.org. Five teachers will receive public recognition and a $5,000 gift.
Qualifications
Nominees must have a minimum of two years of experience as a certified teacher or counselor in the Council Bluffs Community School District or the Lewis Central School District (pre-K through 12th grade). Nominations will be accepted from students (current and former), parents, fellow teachers, school administrators, and the general public. Individuals cannot nominate themselves.
Nominations must be submitted online by February 7, 2025.
