LCHS Students Visit Council Bluffs Police Department

Posted December 18, 2025

This week, a group of Lewis Central High School students with an interest in law enforcement careers visited the Council Bluffs Police Department for an informative behind-the-scenes tour.

During the visit, students explored the facility and heard from several law enforcement professionals about the steps and requirements involved in becoming a police officer. Lt. Brinkman shared insight into the path to a career in policing, including training, education, and day-to-day responsibilities of the job. Students also learned about careers beyond patrol work, as CSI Manager Pattee discussed the role of crime scene investigators and the process of obtaining employment in that specialized field.

The experience gave students a valuable look at the wide range of opportunities within law enforcement and allowed them to ask questions and gain firsthand knowledge from professionals currently working in the field.

Thank you to the Council Bluffs Police Department, Lt. Brinkman, and CSI Manager Pattee for welcoming our students and providing this meaningful career exploration opportunity!
