507.10 Health Services

Health service provided shall function within the framework of written statements of the objectives of the service. Such objectives shall be approved by the Board of Directors. The administration shall also present the Board with a written statement of the relationship of the health program to the total school program and the relationship to the special personnel employed in this service area to the administration and teaching personnel.

The Lewis Central Community School District shall sponsor the following system-wide health programs:

1. Annual height, weight, dental, and vision screening tests may be administered to all students (K-5). Color vision screenings will be administered to all first graders. Middle and high school students will be tested on a referral basis.
2. Annual audiometer screening tests shall be administered to students in (K-3). New students and known cases will be done annually. Middle and high school students will be tested on a referral basis.
