201.1 Legal Status of the Board

LEGAL STATUS OF THE BOARD

 

This school district is organized and known as the Lewis Central Community School District, Counties of Pottawattamie and Mills, State of Iowa.

The Board of Directors of the Lewis Central Community School District derives its legal status from the Constitution of the State of Iowa and the statutes enacted by the General Assembly.    The District’s affairs are conducted by elected school officials, the Lewis Central Community School District Board of Directors.  The District and the Board have exclusive jurisdiction over school matters in the territory of the school district.
