Teacher Qualifications
Parents/Guardians in the Lewis Central Community School District have the right to learn about the following regarding the professional qualifications of their students' classroom teachers:
- state licensure status,
- special endorsements for grade level/subject area taught,
- baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree,
- whether the child is provided assistance by a paraprofessional and, if so, his/her qualifications.
Parents/Guardians may request this information from the Superintendent by calling 712-366-8202 or sending a letter of request to Superintendent of Schools, 4121 Harry Langdon Blvd, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.
The Lewis Central Community School District ensures that parents will be notified in writing if their child has been assigned, or has been taught by a teacher for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not considered highly qualified.
