A new elementary school would be built more closely located to our main campus, which currently runs along Harry Langdon Blvd. With a centrally located early elementary school, parents save time transporting students to multiple buildings within our district. The new school will allow for better egress at a building in which our most vulnerable students are present, allowing for safer arrivals and dismissals. Parking will be a priority, allowing all parents to visit their children during the school day, especially during activities. Students will have more opportunities to interact with older Titans and attend events at the other school buildings as well. Older Titans will be able to more easily volunteer with our primary grades and work at our expanded daycare.

This would allow us to build rooms based on current standards for early childhood education and allow for additional rooms.

Most experts agree that 2nd grade really falls into the "early childhood" category. A new building would allow us to bring 2nd grade back to our early childhood building, which then also opens up classroom space at Titan Hill for growth at the 3rd - 5th grade level.

This would allow us the space to expand the number of preschool classes from five up to fifteen. 

We are currently DHS certified to serve 150 students in our LCLC daycare program, located at Titan Hill. We currently have almost 400 students on a wait list for wrap around care. The new building will include a new larger space for a daycare, allowing us to potentially serve up to 500 students. 

When renovating the middle school, the estimated timeline is in excess of 12 months. In order to complete the renovation, we will need to relocate our students for that time period. If we were not adding a facility, we would need to buy a temporary facility to relocate students which could cost up to $10 million. By building a new primary school and relocating 2nd grade students to the new building, we open up classrooms at Titan Hill to relocate 6th grade and Kreft to relocate 7th and 8th grade for the time needed to renovate the middle school building, saving millions of dollars.

A new elementary school would allow us to transition Kreft to a therapeutic school once work at the middle school was completed and those students had moved back in. We currently outsource and transport students for these services.

A more centrally located early childhood building will improve the ability and efficiency of current and future shared staff positions, bus transportation, and maintenance. This will provide a savings in general fund expenditures.

20% leeway for unexpected items
