Titan 7th Graders Garner Trophy for 2009 Season

The 6th-7th grade Lewis Central Titan Black football team finished the
regular season 7 - 0 and earned the opportunity to play for the
championship against Saint Albert Green. The LC Black team dominated
most opponents throughout the regular season with a stingy defense that
gave up only 18 points all season and a wrecking ball offense that ate
up yards and clock. LC Black was led by the five captains who were
chosen by their teammates for their leadership, drive, and passion for
the game. Captains included; Kinnick Fox, Hunter Vredenburgh, Ryan
Scheidle, Jordan Nielsen and Austin Simmons. The championship game was
a battle to the end. A stop by Saint Albert on their own two yard line
prevented LC Black from scoring the touchdown which would have sent the
game into overtime. Though the team ended the season just short of
their goal of a championship, it should be known that this group of
individuals never gave up. These student athletes will go on to win
many more games and bring Lewis Central back into the championship
picture. They are also very good students and individuals and according to Coach Dan Robbins, "the sky's the limit for each and every one of these guys!" The 2009 Team roster included:
