Teacher Spotlight

Each month Lewis Central High School will feature two of its many superb teachers in appreciation of the contributions he or she makes to the education of our young people.

2009 -- 2010

March

Ms. Casey teaches Consumer Survival Skills, Accounting I and II, Business Law and Workplace Readiness.  She has been a teacher at Lewis Central High School for four years. Ms. Casey's former position in human resources at Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company gave her valuable real-world experience which she shares with her students.  Read what her students have to say about their experiences in her classes. January

Mr. Ford teaches biology, anatomy, physical science and ecology.  Although this is Mr Ford's first year as a teacher, he has acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience in his previous career with Pottawattamie County Conservation where he worked as a park ranger at Hitchcock Nature Center and Narrows River Park for twelve years.  Read what students have to say about Mr. Ford:  Students' comments about Mr. Ford

Ms. Wiles teaches ninth-grade American History.  Ms. Wiles has taught at Lewis Central High School for three years.  Ms. Wiles holds a BA and BS in secondary social studies education.  Students' comments about Ms. Wiles

Ms. Phillips teaches Chemistry A and B and Biology A and B.  She has a BA in Biology Education and a MA in Health in addition to 18 years of teaching experience.  This is her second year at Lewis Central. Students' comments about Ms. Phillips

Ms. Taylor teaches ninth-grade language arts.  Ms. Taylor holds a BA in Secondary English Education and a MA in Educational Administration.  She has 21 years of teaching experience with three at Lewis Central High School.  In her spare time Ms. Taylor enjoys reading, traveling, music, movies and gardening.  Students' comments about Ms. Taylor

Ms. Lopes teaches Basic Skills English.  She has taught at Lewis Central for 18 years but has taught for 30 years overall in various capacities which include teaching night school, substitute teaching and teaching at lock-up facilities. Ms. Kreger teaches Clothing Management, Clothing Design, Parenting and Child Development.  Ms. Kreger is a true, blue Titan - all of her 30 years of teaching have been at Lewis Central.  When not teaching she enjoys being with her family and reading. Student comment about Ms. Kreger

February

Mr. Campbell teaches human anatomy and physiology and biology and is also the sponsor of The Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  He has been a teacher and coach for 34 years with the past 25 years at Lewis Central High School  Although Mr. Campbell will be retiring at the end of this year, his teacher career will not end.  He and his wife will be moving to the country of Peru where he will teach in a seminary. Mr. Ankenbauer teaches geometry, algebra, pre-calculus, Web Page Design, PC Support, Structured Programming, and Visual Basic.  In addition to the classes he teaches, he is Lewis Central's cross country coach.  Mr. Ankenbauer has been an instructor at Lewis Central for 29 years.  Read what his students have to say about their experiences in his classroom.

Ms. Muta teaches English Composition to seniors.  She has 18 years of teaching experience; the past 13 years have been at Lewis Central High School.  Many students recognize her dedication to students and teaching.  Students' comments about Ms. Muta

Ms. Lewis has been an art and humanities teacher at Lewis Central High School for 12 years and is currently the Art Club sponsor. In her spare time, she uses her artistic talent to paint portraits and murals for others.   Students' comments about Mrs. Lewis

Ms. Lincoln teaches Workplace Readiness, Introduction to Business, Marketing, and Computers II.  She is also the sponsor of Business Professionals of America.  All of her thirty-three years as a teaching professional have been dedicated to the students at Lewis Central. Students' comments about Mrs. Lincoln

Mr. Krabbenhoff teaches Woods 1-4 and Home and Car Care.  He has been an instructor at Lewis Central High School for 12 years.  His previous work experience as a construction worker, furniture maker and youth director have given him much "real-world" experience to share with his students. This month we recognize Ms. Sharon Crawley.  Ms. Crawley has taught American History, World History and Psychology at Lewis Central High School for ten years.She graduated from Buena Vista University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies.  In the course of her career she has made an impact on many students.  Click on the link to read what students have to say about her. Students' comments about Ms. Crawley
