Honor the best teachers of the Lewis Central School District and the Council Bluffs Public School District for the influence they have on the development of their students and the part they play to help maintain Council Bluffs’ longstanding reputation for educational excellence. The H.H. “Red” and Ruth H. Nelson Family Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes those individuals who go above and beyond to demonstrate leadership and vision in our schools.
Nominations
Making a nomination is a fantastic way to give a teacher the recognition he/she deserves. To nominate someone for the award, visit www.omahafoundation.org. The nomination form can be found under Supporting Organizations, H.H. Red and Ruth H. Nelson Foundation. Five teachers will receive public recognition and a $5,000 gift.
Qualifications
Nominees must have a minimum of two years experience as a certified teacher or counselor in the Lewis Central School District or the Council Bluffs Public School District (K-12). Nominations will be accepted from students (current and former), parents, fellow teachers, school administrators and the general public. Individuals cannot nominate themselves.
