CLIMB Theater Visits Kreft Primary

by Rosie Spangenberg

September 26, 2008

During the week of September 22, Kreft students learned about showing respect by making good choices through the CLIMB Theater program.  CLIMB stands for Creative Learning In Mind and Body. This is the fourth year that Kreft has been involved with the Minnesota-based company thanks to the support of the Lewis Central PTA.  Four years ago Lewis Central PTA representatives won a free performance by the company through a drawing at the state PTA Convention.  The PTA executives saw the value in the program and have been providing the necessary funds ever since to bring the program to Kreft.  Not only did each preschool, kindergarten, and first grade classroom get to experience the learning, families had a chance to get involved on Thursday night at a district-wide get-together. Here is what some Kreft students had to say:

Garrett C. "My favorite part was when they threw the attention gum ball at the teacher."

Paige B. " I liked the magic potion that helped them change characters."

Andrew W. "I had to show them the right way to listen to a story."

Garrett P. "Each time somebody said something good about me I got to go one step on the line of goodness."
