The Wheels On The Bus Go 'Round and Round...
Students Need to Prep Their Attitude For the Ride Of Their Lives

With the school year now gearing up, whatever parents/guardians can do to prepare and maintain their student's attitude for the ride to and from school will be appreciated. Too many students who end up in a building administrator's office because of a bus behavior referral think that the dismissal bell means they can bust loose with anything they want to do. They have to remember that school time starts when they leave for school and lasts until they get home, and until every other student does too...
Parents, think about the worst trip you have ever taken with your kids, even if just to the grocery store..."mom, he pinched me, he's looking at me, she hit me, when do we get there, I WANT TO SIT THERE, here you can have it (throw,) bop, ouch etc." and then magnify it by a bus load and up the volume by 60 decibels. Anything you can do to help keep the tone inside the driver's guidelines would be helpful.
Bus rules are posted in the Handbook section of the high school website, and were distributed at registration. Basically, they match all other rules in our Student Handbook also posted there, but the loss of the ride is also a possible consequence.
Behavior on buses is a serious topic, so set a tone with your students and help us maintain ours. Each morning and evening it is the ride of their lives.
