Superintendent's August 2008 Update

Welcome back for another school year!
Classes are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 20.
MEETING FOR PARENTS NEW TO THE DISTRICT
There will be an informational meeting for
parents new to the Lewis Central School District as well parents
who have a child attending school for the very first time on
Thursday, August 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Middle School
Auditorium. Information will be available at
registration. Free child care will be provided. The
meeting will not last longer than an hour.
REGISTRATION
Student Registration is scheduled for August 4
and 5. PK-5 registration will take place in the Middle School
Cafeteria from 2:00 p.m.– 6:30 p.m. each day. On Monday,
August 4 students with last names beginning with N-Z are to
register and on Tuesday, August 5 students with last names
beginning with A-M are to register. Middle School students
will register in the Middle School Lobby. Registration hours
are also from 2:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.. Students with last names
beginning with N-Z are to register on the 4th and
students with last names beginning with A-M are to register on the
5th. High School students can register either day
in the High School Commons from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. For
more information, contact the building where your child would be
attending. Building principals and secretaries will be back
in the office beginning Monday, July 28.

At the time of registration, various fees must be paid. Fees
for the 2008-09 year are as follows:

SMOKING BAN
HF 2212
passed in the recent legislative session prohibits smoking in all
areas of school buildings as well as school grounds, parking lots,
athletic fields, including inside any vehicle located on school
grounds or school parking lots. A school can no longer
designate a smoking area. We would ask that you abide by
