Superintendent's May 2008 Update

Well, I do believe it is now safe to say that
the last day for students for this school year will be Friday, May
30.
This year will mark the end of the teaching careers for Phyllis
Hamling (Middle School Vocal Music), Jan Pellant (Middle School
Language Arts), Joyce Barney (2nd Grade), and Chris
Heuer (2nd Grade). These four ladies have a
combined 120 years of teaching in the Lewis Central Community
School District. We thank them for their years of service and
wish them the very best in their retirement.
Congratulations to the graduates of the Lewis Central Class of
2008. Graduation is scheduled for Sunday, May 25 at 1:30 p.m.
in the High School Gymnasium.
The 2008-09 school calendar is posted on the district web site
(under the District Information tab). Classes will begin on
August 20. Registration will be held on August 4 & 5.
Before the end of the school year, we hope to do some additional
landscaping around the marquee at the High School and around the
sign at Titan Hill. We have received a grant from the Council
Bluffs Tree’s Forever Group.
Please encourage your children to finish the year strong!
