LCMS to be Well-Represented at Summer Institute

2The Blank Summer Institute for the Arts and Sciences is a two-week residential summer program held at the University of Iowa for 130 of Iowa’s top students who are currently in grades 7 and 8. The Institute provides exceptionally talented students with an intensive and advanced educational experience designed to enhance intellectual and social growth. Lewis Central Middle School students nominated by teachers and approved by a building selection committee are invited to apply for the Blank Summer Institute. Essays, grades, test scores and student work samples are submitted for consideration. Four Lewis Central Middle School students have been selected to participate in the 2008 Blank Summer Institute:
Gabriella Alvarez – Global and Cultural Studies
Amanda Schoening – Math Problem Solving
Bailey Shaw – Invention and Innovation
Trever Daniels – Performing Arts
With 13 selectees in the past 5 years, Lewis Central Middle School has established a strong tradition of excellence in this highly selective program. We are proud of our program and our students!
