A Great Day for Lewis Central Middle School bands !!!!!

On Saturday, November 1, 2008, students from the Lewis Central 7th and 8th grade bands under the direction of Pam Ryan and Johnny Kurt traveled to Clarinda, Iowa to audition for the Southwest Iowa District Honor Band. Over 46 schools and around 500 students participate in these auditions to earn a position in the 90 member 7th grade band or the 90 member 8th grade band.

Congratulations! to the record number of Lewis Central Middle School band students who earned a position in the South West Iowa Junior High/Middle School honor bands. Getting ready for this audition takes a huge commitment and many hours of practice. Way to go Lewis Central band!

The honor band festival will be held at Lewis Central this year on Nov 14, 2008 during the school day with the concert at 7:30 PM. Some of our 8th grade band students who are sitting at the top of their sections will most likely be asked to perform in the All-Iowa band in May. This announcement will be made at the honor band concert on Nov 14. Our 8th grade band students are waiting anxiously for the All-Iowa results!
