We have made several facility improvements over the summer. You have probably noticed that the majority of the Central Elementary Building has been demolished. The Central Gym and the remaining part of the building will be renovated. The goal is to have the renovation completed by the fall of the 2012-2013 school year. The old wooden bleachers on the visitor’s side of the football field have been replaced with metal bleachers. A portion of the Middle School (auditorium and band area) has been re-roofed. Site improvements have been made at Titan Hill including additional parking and the actual road from the highway up to the building has been widened to 3 lanes. A new ERC will be built on the Titan Hill site. Construction is scheduled to begin next spring with completion the following December.
You have undoubtedly heard and read about the potential for flooding of the Kreft building in the event of a catastrophic levy breach. We have developed an emergency evacuation plan which will be shared with Kreft parents at the Supply Drop-Off night. Students and staff will be practicing the emergency evacuation drill. The safety of students and staff is always a priority.
Have a great school year!
