Studies shows that nutrition helps student learning, decreases absences and improves behaviors.  At school, students have the opportunity to taste new foods that are low in fat, sugar, and sodium, or high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. These experiences are created by serving fresh vegetables daily, and made from scratch entrees fat free milk options.  Nutrition education empowers the student to select and enjoy healthy foods while learning about lowering their risks of chronic diseases and developing healthy lifestyles. Nutrition education is crucial to the well-being of every child.
