Policy 501.9 - Foreign Exchange Students

FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENTS

The district will accept on a tuition-free basis a limited number of foreign exchange students, provided arrangements for these students have been approved in advance by the building principal and the Superintendent. Such students shall be sponsored by a responsible organization that meets requirements of the United States State Department, and shall live with a family within the boundaries of the Lewis Central Community School District. Any organization intending to sponsor a foreign exchange student shall make arrangements with the district three months in advance of enrollment. The foreign exchange student may attend district schools for one school year only.

To be eligible for a graduation diploma at Lewis Central, foreign exchange students must meet all graduation requirements.
