STUDENT  HEARING
MONDAY, AUGUST 15, 2011
Un-Official Minutes

Call to Order:  Board President Dorene Scheffel called the hearing to order at 6:00 pm.  At roll call, the following board members responded as present:  Dan Feller, Bob Hendrix, Rob Livingston, Ron Stazzoni, Amie Studer and Dorene Scheffel.  Daryl Weilage was absent.  

Administrators:  Administrators present were Dr. Mark Schweer, Dale Kreher and Chuck Story. 

Guests:  Jane Morris, Kara Morris and Joe Thornton

Dorene Scheffel asked whether the parent wished to have the hearing conducted in closed session.  The parent stated that the hearing would be conducted in open session. 

Mr. Story presented the facts related to the case.  Two sets of exhibits were presented to the Board.   Mrs. Morris was given an opportunity to ask questions.  At the conclusion of Mr. Story’s presentation, Mrs. Morris was given the opportunity to present her and her daughter’s case and ask further questions. 

Mrs. Morris requested that the Board take action on the following:

• Review grading errors. 
• Accepting the modules that were submitted late for full credit
• Guarantee that students receive equal education from substitutes when the regular classroom teacher is absent.

Mr. Feller moved, seconded by Mr. Hendrix that the Lewis Central Board of Directors go into Executive Session for the sole purpose of discussing the case as presented. Discussion:  None  Carried:  6-0

Mr. Feller moved, seconded by Mr. Hendrix, that the Lewis Cetnral Baord of Dreictors return to Open Session.  Discussion:  None  Carried:  6-0

Mr. Stazzoni moved, seconded by Mr. Feller that the Lewis Central Board of Directors will not take any action on the matters brought before them this evening.  Discussion:  The Board believes that everything has been done that can be done regarding these issues.  Carried:  6-0
