Call to Order: Board President Dorene Scheffel called the regular meeting to order at 6:30 pm. At roll call, the following board members responded as present: Mr. Feller, Mr. Hendrix, Mr. Stazzoni, Mrs. Studer, and Mrs. Scheffel. Mr. Livingston and Mr. Weilage were absent.
Administrators: Administrators present were Dr. Mark Schweer, Dave Black and Dale Kreher

Approve Agenda: Mr. Hendrix moved, seconded by Mr. Feller that the Agenda be approved as presented. Discussion: None Carried: 5-0

Consent Agenda: Mr. Stazzoni moved, seconded by Mr. Hendrix, that the Consent Agenda be approved as presented. The Consent Agenda included: Approval of Minutes – December 20, 2010. Administrative Recommendations: Classified Approval to Employ: Brad Pigsley – Bus Driver, Licensed Resignations at the conclusion of the 2010-2011 school year: Nancy File – MS Teacher, Jan Jenney – MS Counselor, Steve Wymore – MS Teacher and Paul Massman – HS Associate Principal. 7.01 Technology Purchases (Firewall Appliance, Licensing)
We need to replace our firewall appliance. We have secured two bids for the NSA E5500 SonicWALL Secure Upgrade Plus. 1.) $10,520.82 from GovConnection (Maryland) with shipping included and 2.) $10,740.00 CDW-G (Chicago) plus shipping. We are recommending that we purchase the firewall appliance from GovConnection for $10,520.82. In order for the appliance to be installed and configured, the entire network will have to be “unplugged” for a length of time. This cannot happen while business is operational without Internet and outside email being down.
We also need to renew the virus and SPAM protection for the laptops and desktops. Bids are as follows: *900 renewal ($5.39) and 300 new ($11.97) = $8,442.00 from GovConnection (Maryland) *900 renewal ($5.36) and 300 new ($12.53) licenses = $8,583.00 from SHI (Software House International) in New Jersey and 900 renewal ($5.92) and 300 new ($9.42) licenses = $8,154.00 from Software Express (North Carolina) and a three year price from Software Express totaling $14,970.00.

Mr. Hendrix moved, seconded by Mr. Stazzoni, that the Lewis Central Board of Directors approve the bid for the firewall appliance from GovConnection in the amount of $10,520.82 and the virus and SPAM renewal licensing for three years from Software Express for 900 renewal licenses and 300 new licenses for a total of $14,970.00.
